A federal agent shot and killed a man who was brandishing a gun while officers in Minneapolis were attempting to arrest a criminal migrant Saturday morning sparking immediate riots, the Department of Homeland Security said.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said a 37-year-old man was killed but declined to identify him. He added that information about what led up to the shooting was limited. The man was identified by his parents as Alex Pretti, an intensive care unit nurse.
DHS said the shot person fled a traffic stop and attacked a federal officer.
