Some of the larvae of the Museum’s Lewis’s Moon Snails (Neverita lewisii) have begun to hatch from their egg masses (AKA egg collars). This short clip shows one of the larval moon snails under a microscope. Like many species of marine snails, moon snails undergo a free-swimming larval stage after hatching from their egg mass.
